Taking A Look Back
Do you remember what happened in Week 1? It feels like just yesterday when we kicked off 2024 Camp CrunchLabs. Take a trip with us down memory lane to get ready for the final episode of Camp! Remember, you can re-watch any episode whenever you want on our YouTube channel! We'll link each video below to make it easy for you.
Week 1: Surfing on 3,500,000 Airsoft BBs
Mark Rober kicks off Camp CrunchLabs with a thrilling demonstration of surfing on millions of Airsoft BBs. This video highlights the unique properties of these tiny plastic balls and how they can be used in fun experiments.
Campers are challenged* to create a toilet paper laser maze in their homes and navigate through it without breaking the "laser" beams. The video showcases creative and intricate maze designs submitted by participants.
Week 3: 4,000 Mouse Trap Chain Reaction
This week focuses on the creation of a chain reaction using mouse traps. The video features an impressive setup with 4,000 mouse traps triggering one another in a spectacular and satisfying display. You can see the crazy result in the video to the left!
Week 4: Mind Blowing Illusions!
Mark explains and demonstrates how to use forced perspective to create mind-bending optical illusions. The challenge* encourages campers to get creative with angles and distances to produce their own illusions that wow viewers.
Week 5: Vacuum Cannon Explosions with Salish Matter
This video features Mark and special guests Jordan and Salish Matter using vacuum cannons to create dramatic explosions. The real challenge for campers is to explore the science behind vacuum cannons, but the explosions are tons of fun too!
Campers are tasked with designing and executing the best pranks that are funny but safe. The video includes some of the most hilarious and clever prank submissions*, bringing laughter and joy to everyone involved.
Week 7: Ultimate Slime Obstacle Course
Mark and his nephews set up an elaborate slime obstacle course, demonstrating different slime properties and some friendly competition.
Week 8: Impossible Trick Shot Challenge
This week is all about capturing incredible trick shots on video. The video showcases amazing trick shots that seem nearly impossible, motivating campers to achieve their own impressive feats and document their success*.
Week 9: Liquid Nitrogen Explosions
Mark and our special guests the Ninja Kidz use liquid nitrogen to create spectacular explosions and demonstrate the science behind it. Check out some of the fun in the video to the right!
Week 10: Incredible Chain Reactions!
We challenged* campers to make their best Rube Goldberg machines, and they delivered! We had a blast looking over all of their chain reaction creations.
Week 11: Giant Ping Pong Explosions with Adley
A for Adley and Shonduras join Mark on the Camp CrunchLabs set covered in....trash cans? Not just any trash cans! These trash cans are exploding with confetti, ping pong balls, light up spiky balls, ball pit balls, and nerf balls...we're gonna have a ball! Could you tell?

Final Week of Camp
This week, we’re exploring the fascinating world of forced perspective! Your challenge for Week 2 of summer camp is to create a forced perspective illusion that really wows us. Can you make your tallest friend look shorter than your shortest friend? Can you make your cat look taller than you? Get creative with placing objects closer and farther away to shoot a video using forced perspective that's got us doing double takes of disbelief. Use angles and distance to create optical illusions, making objects appear larger, smaller, closer, or farther away than they really are.
There will be four winners for each of the summer's six super challenges. Challenge winners will receive a challenge prize pack: a signed patch, a signed backpack, and a signed Phat Gus.
Then, from those winners, Mark will choose the grand prize winner who will be invited to the real-life CrunchLab and star in the 12th and final video with Mark Rober himself.
Ready to participate? Head over to campcrunchlabs.com/challenges to submit your creation.
With that, the 2024 Camp CrunchLabs comes to a close. There's no need for tears, we'll be back with more summer fun next year!
